I was born in the sixties in Camberwell, South East London
and spent my formative years in East Dulwich before getting married and moving
to Orpington, and then to Sittingbourne in Kent.
I was very much, into arts and physics at school, and this
was probably why I became interested in optics and ultimately photography.
Having learned the basics of photography at evening classes,
I became an in-house photographer for a government office, which, although
sounding very mysterious, was mainly photographing old deeds, maps and dignitaries.
It was whilst there that I Studied and achieved my HND in Professional
Photography at City of Westminster College and also qualified with the BIPP, the British Institute of Professional Photography
From there, and after the premature closure of the
Photography Department (!), I took the logical next step and set up my own
business, Richard Cook Photography, in 2004 where I offer studio portraits, Commercial photography, and
everything else that you see you see on these pages and more besides...
